At Palma Sola Early Learning Academy, our

'whole child' - cognitively, socially, physically, and emotionally, so

Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies are
the educational building blocks for academic success. A strong literature
based curriculum with an emphasis on phonics, reading, writing, mapping,
and graphing, exploring and number skills are stressed to help students
prepare for successful elementary school success. |

Art
students use a variety of mediums
and processes to interpret what they lean about the fundamentals of artistic
expression - clay plaster, wire, wood, tempera, watercolor, chalk, and
charcoal are some of the mediums they use.
In Drama and Role
Playing children learn the fundamentals of theatre production
and stage performance using costumes, props, stories, music, and skits.
Spanish
classes focus on building vocabulary skills in conversational Spanish
with an emphasis on words and phrases related to the theme of the week.

Our Horticulture
curriculum helps children learn about plants, insects and gardening
as they plan and tend their butterfly garden and vegetable garden.
Sign Language
promotes active learning and improves vocabulary and reading skills.
Students will use signing for receptive and expressive speech, language
development and to enhance self esteem.

In Music
classes children are introduced to the basics of music, performance,
musical instruments, sign language and rhythmic movement.
Character
Education forms a foundation
for building lifetime relationships. Students learn to take turns, share,
respect differences, and build friendships - skills that will help them
prepare for future success.
Students develop gross motor
skills, coordination and
balance in Physical Fitness by
using a variety of
exercises, equipment and skills to train and develop
the muscles of the body. The fundamentals of team
and individual sports are also stressed and reinforced. |
